Nagpur City Club thrashed Taj Sporting 3-1 to make it to the top two in the NDFA organized Meghe First Division Football Tournament on November 4,2013. Taj Sporting managed to secure second place in preceding match but lose to Nagpur City Club in today’s match.The tournament is underway at Police Line Takli ground.
Sameer Sheikh drew the first blood for Nagpur City Club in the 8th minute. Nagpur City Club maintained the 1-0 lead till the second half.
In the second half, Taj Sporting made a breakthrough as Mohd. Kaleem levelled the scores 1-1 in the 8th minute. But, Taj Sporting could not hold Nagpur City Club for a long time as Rahul Sahani doubled the lead in the 66th minute to make it 2-1. One minutes later, Sagar Mishra scored a goal for NCC to ensure a 3-1 win. Yugal Gedam of NCC was warned with yellow card in the 85th min. Shahnawaz Ali (6th min) and Mohd. Kaleem (13th min) Taj were also cautioned with yellow cards during the play.

In the eliminator match, Central Railway Institute beat Al-Aziz Sports Club 3-2. Mohd. Faizan of Al-Aziz found the net in the 39th min. Rajat Thakur of Central than made a goal in the 44th min. This was followed by two goal by Pankaj (67th min) and Kunal (75th min). Lastly, Amir Patel of Al-Aziz tried to make extra goals but only scored a lone goal in the 86th min and Central Railway clinched the victory. During the proceedings, Ronald Rampuri of CRI warned with one yellow card wherein Waqar Ahmad Ansari 88th min of Al-Aziz shown a red card for his rough game.

Senior Division 
Meanwhile, Ansar Club have cruise the first qualifier match beating Rahul Brothers 2-1 in the NDFA-organised First Division Tournament. Ansar Club scored two goals through Mohd. Imran and Faizal Pasha in the 82nd and 79th min. Earlier, in the first half Sal Sabil Ali of Rahul Brothers earned a single goal in the 18th min.
Sayeed Anwar (18th min) and Tarique Ansari (79th min) of Ansar were cautioned with yellow card during the match. However, Anuj Gorey (23rd min), Anthony Peter (27th min) and Amit Naidu (81st min) of Rahul were also penalized with yellow cards by match referee.

This well-liked annual event is being conducted by Gondwana Club as its premises atop the verdant green Seminary Hills.

Apurva Bundesha defeated Vivek Daga 82-32, 75-39 and marks the comfortable victory. Moreover, Ujwal Kothari beat Manpreet Notte 56-24, 58-65, 94-16 in the subsequent outing.
Whereas Jatin Kale outwits Pratik Vaidya 152-122 in the ongoing round of Billiards contest. Jatin scripted comfortable win in Billiards.

SBFC Kandri Mines and Ideal FC succeeded in outwitting the sturdily built players from Avengers FC and Young Boys FC respectively in a league outings of Late Jawaharlal Darda Second Division League organized by Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) in association with Lokmat Pvt. Ltd at Central Railway Ajni ground on December 5, 2013.

SBFC Kandri Mines trounced Avengers FC 4-1 in the first match. SBFC scored their first goal in the 49th min through Sandeep Kathaote. SBFC maintained the 1-0 lead till the second half. In the 2nd half, Kamal Rautel of SBFC earned second and third goal in the 65th min and 70th min. Subsequently Avengers FC found the net in the 68th min through David Champia. But, SBFC bounced back and scored their fourth goal in the 75th minute through Nitin Deshmukh. Hence Avengers suffered defeat in the 1st match. Sanju (40th min) and Akshay Charde (45th min) of Avengers were cautioned with yellow cards.

In the second outing of Darda League, Ideal FC thrashed Young Boys FC 2-0. In the first half, Ideal FC scored their first goal in the 15th minute through M. Zubair. Ideal FC kept their dominance show on throughout the first and second half against Young Boys. Since Naved Akhtar of Ideal netted the second goal in the 70th min.

Young’s Mohd. Asif in the 35th min and Mohd. Nayeem in the 75th min were warned with yellow cards.

Porwal Academy entered into the semi-final by defeating Shakti Sporting 4-1, in the VHA ‘B’ Division Hockey Tournament underway at VHA ground on November 5, 2013. The tournament has been organized by Vidarbha Hockey Association.

In the 22nd match, Porwal Academy scored their first goal in the seventh minute through Sidhant Bansod. Four minutes later, Sidhant Gedam doubled the lead to make it 2-0. This was followed by one more goal in the 15th min by Siddhant Gedam. Ashish Dhote scored a lone goal for Shakti Sporting in the 24th minute but Porwal Academy dominated them since last goal was earned by again Sidhant Gedam in the 31st min.

In another match, St. Ursula thrashed V.T Convent 4-0, in the ongoing VHA Girls School HockeyLeague. In the second minute itself, Pramtima Narnavare struck a fabulous goal and opened the account for St. Ursula. Moreover, Nirmala Dhurve scored a hat trick and scored three fabulous goals in the 8th min, 14min and 30 min respectively

Banker’s XI defeated Majumdar C.C. by 52 runs in today’s first match of Haier-BCS Challenger Cricket tournament organized by Royal cricket Association on December 5, 2013 here at the BCS ground.

Yash Raikar 86 runs, Rohit Ghate 38 runs & Abhigyan Singh 16 runs notched fine innings to reach 180 runs with loss of 5 wkts in 20 overs. For Majumdar C.C. Rugved Majumdar took 2 wkts while Sohel Jain, Vedant Ingle & Krishna Singh took 1 wkts each for their team.

Majumdar made for 128 runs for 9 wkts in 20 overs with Lalit Ram 25 runs, Agrim Parmat 24 runs & Sohel Jain 22 runs as main scorers, For Banker’s XI Devarsh Pattalwar & Akash Neghe scalped 3 wkts while Vishal Chandwani & Kushal Pimpalkar  1 wkts each for their team

In a second encounter at BCS ground of Haier-BCS Challenger Cricket tournament organized by Royal cricket Association Mannat Associate notched a comfortable win chasing 74 runs made by B.P.W. for 10 wickets off stipulated 17 overs. Shubham Tamgade 25 runs, Devesh Nathani 15 runs & Mahesh Ahuja made 10 runs to reach 74 runs, For Mannat Associate Sachin Katare Scalpped 5wkts while Lokesh Chikhale & Onkar Singh 2 wkts took 2 wkts each.

Mannat Associate made a comfortable chase of 77 runs winning by 9 wkts. Alok Tiwari 35 runs, Shailendra Singh 18* runs & Chandrashekar Atram made 16* to reach the target of 74 runs in 11 over’s, For B.P.W. only Anshul Aamesar took 1 wkts for his team.

In the First encounter at Gurunanak Pharmacy ground, Al Zam – Zam notched a comfortable win against Punjabi Surjit by 5 wkts. Batting first Punjabi Surjit scored 119 for 10 wkts in 20 over.

Sonu Waghmare 31 runs, Gurpreet Singh 18 runs & Afasr Sheikh made 13 runs for their team. For Al Zam Zam Faisal AAnsari scalped 3 wkts were Vicky Ninawe & Ajay Kuril took 2 wkts each.Comfortably chasing Al zam zam made 121 runs for 5 wkt in 18.4 over.

Sayyed Hamid 20* runs, Nazim Khan made 15 runs & Nitin Bavelikar 15 runs for their team. For Punjabi Surjit Banti Nepane took 2 wkts while Swaranjit Sharma,Mohib Khan &  Gurpreet Singh took 1 wkts each for their team.

Aman Sharma 62 runs, Ankit Tiwari 39* runs & Anirudha Chore 33 runs nitched fine innings to reach 168 runs with loss of 3 wkts in 20 overs. For Koradi C.A. Swapnil Patil, Sanjay Atram & Chandrakant Shende took 1 wkts each for their team.

Eleven Star and Taj Sporting won their respective qualifier matches and entered in finals of NDFA organized Meghe Senior and First Division Football Tournament on December 6, 2013.

In the first qualifier match of Meghe Senior Division, Eleven Star drubbed Rahul Brothers by way of tie-breaker 3-1 with 0-0 regulation time. Eleven Star scored three fabulous goals through Mohd. Al-Faiz, Shadab Akhtar and Mohd. Faizan. While, Rahul Brothers scored their solitary goal through Anuj Gaurey. Ronald Joseph (73rd min) was warned of Rahul  Brothers with yellow card during the match. However, in tie-breaker match, the entire credit goes to goal keeper of Eleven Star Abdul Ahad since he secured three penalty kicks of Rahul Brothers.

In Meghe First Division’s qualifier encounter of the day, Taj Sporting blanked Central Railway Institute 4-0. Kalimul Haque put his side ahead by scoring two goasl in the 15th minute and 48th minute. Taj Sporting maintained the lead throughout the match. Along with first half, Second half too belonged to Taj Sporting as they scored the winning another two goals in the 79th minute and 81st minute through Kaleem Khan. Abhinav Yadav (40th min) and Nasir Khan (45th min) of Taj Sporting were cautioned with yellow cards during the match. Also, Rajat Thakur of CRI was penalized in the 58th min during the proceedings.

Cager from Centre Point School Amravati Road, Ayushi Chandel a student of Class X, has made her school proud by finding a berth in the Maharashtra State Squad for U-17 School Basketball Championship to be held at Rajnandgaon from December 13to17 December, 2013.

Ayushi, represented her school in the Basketball tournaments organized by DSO from September 2to 6 September, 2013. She was shortlisted for the Division Level trials, which was held at Chandrapur on September 25, 2013. Her fighting spirit and enthusiasm helped her make her place in the State Trials held at Brahmapuri, (Dist.) Chandrapur on October 27th, 2013.

ONFC thrashed Krida Vikas Sanstha 2-1 in the first quarter final match of Late Jawaharlal Darda Second Division League organized by Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) in association with Lokmat Pvt. Ltd at Central Railway Ajni ground on December 7, 2013.

In the first half of the match Pankaj Mahajan of Krida found the net in the 5th min. However, ONFC’s M. Mudassir and Irshad Khan earned two goals in the 28th min and 55th min respectively and maintained the lead 2-1 throghout the match against Krida Vikas. Muzammil (53rd) min of ONFC and Shubham Verma (22nd min), Pratik Nitnawre (51st min) of Krida were penalized by yellow cards.

SBFC blanked Birsa Munda FC 1-0 in the second quarter final match.  Kunal Rautel of SBFC scored a solitary goal in the 48th min. against Birsa Munda FC.

In the third quarter final match, Ideal F C drubbed Nagpur City Club “B” 3-1. Zubair Maaviya drew the first blood for Ideal in the 27th minute. Also, Hitesh Harode of NCC netted the goal in the 47th min. However, change of ends did not bring fortune for Nagpur City Club. Since Zubair Maaviya of Ideal again earned the second goal in the 64th min. Azharul Haque netted the last winning goal for Ideal FC in the 63rd min.

Anjuman High School & Junior College Nagpur Division recorded a huge win over Little Scholar School Latur division in SGFI’s (School Games Federation of India) Under-19 Sepak takraw Maharashtra Championship.This was the first Sepaktakraw SGFI’s Under-19 (Boys & Girls) State Championship which was organized at Jalgaon on December 1 to 3, 2013.

Around eight divisions participated in this tournament included the teams from Napur Division ( Anjuman H. S. & J. C. ), Latur Division (Little Scholar Public School, Nanded), Pune Division (Saraswati Vidyalaya Union High School, Pune), Mumbai Division (Arya Gurukul H. S. Thane), Kolhapur Division (Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya & Jr. College, Satara), Amravati Division (Shri Shivaji Bhauddeshya School, Amravati),  Aurangabad Division (Dr. Zakir Husain Jr. College, Parbhani), Nashik Division (M.A.R.Anglo Urdu H. S. & Jr. College, Jalgaon ).

In the final fixture of Sepak takraw tournament, Anjuman High School & Junior College Nagpur thrashed Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya & Jr. College, Satara with 2-0 set and points scored were 15-8 and 15-11.

The team players of Nagpur Division were Shahid Hasan, Mohd. Zahid, Sharique Nehal, Sheikh Sameer and Faizal Ahmad Ansari, (Coach) Mohd. Javed Rana and (Manager) Meraj Ansari. Moreover, Anjuman’s Principal Shakeel Ahmad & Staff to congratulated to the team and coach for this victory.

Nagpur News: SBFC and Ideal FC crossed the threshold of semifinals to enter the finals of Late Jawaharlal Darda Second Division League organized by Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) in association with Lokmat Pvt. Ltd at Central Railway Ajni ground onDecember 9, 2013.

In the thrilling first semifinal outing, SBFC overcame ONFC 4-3 in tie-breaker round. Earlier, both the teams failed to open their account in regular time. The match was as boring till the final whistle. Both the teams played their heart out to take lead, but all their efforts were worthless. They also missed out some good opportunities to score goal, hence taking the game to tiebreaker round. Susheel Rautel Pradeep Rautel, Nitin Deshmukh and Christopher Sayatago were the goal scorers for SBFC. For ONFC, Syed Sheikh Muzammil, Irshad Khan, Firoz Khan scored goals in penalty-shootout but failed to clinch title for their team. Meanwhile, Atish Neware (60th min) of SBFC and M. Mujahid (26th min), Shakir (72nd min) and Firoz Khan (76th min) of ONFC were cautioned with yellow cards for their rough tackles.

While in the second semifinal’s one sided match, Ideal FC drubbed Pats FC 3-0. Shahbaz Ahmad of Ideal netted the first goal in the 10th min and opened the account for Ideal. Subsequently, Faique Ansari scored the succeeding goal in the 23rd min. Yet again, Shahbaz Ahmad scored the last winning goal in the 39th min against Pats FC. Shahbaz Ahmad (18th min) and Nasim Ahmad (62nd min) of Ideal were penalized for the misconduct during the proceedings.

Eleven Star defeated Ansar Club 5-4 in a nail biting final of NDFA organized Meghe Senior Division Football Tournament on November 10, 2013. Both the teams played insistently but failed to score a goal in regular time. This tournament played at Motibagh ground.

Ansar Sohail of Eleven Star and Mohd. Imran of Ansar scored 1-1 in the 26th min and 47th min with the regulation time of 1-1. Moreover in the tie-breaker round, Mohd. Al-Faiz, Arbaz Ansari, Mohd. Faizan and Mohd. Sohail earned four fabulous goals for Eleven Star. However, Wais Akhtar , Tarique Ansari and Shakil Ahmad scored three goals for Ansar Club but failed to match up their opponents. Arbaz Ahmad (19th min), Amir Sohail (26th min) and Shoeb Sultan (68th min) of Eleven were cautioned with yellow cards during the match. Saquib Athar of Ansar also shown a yellow card in the 44th min.

In the Prize distribution function, the winning team Eleven Star awarded with Rs. 21000/- and Runner up team awarded with Rs. 15000/- by Nagpur District Football Association. Also, Best Goal Keeper Abdul Ahad,of  Eleven Star awarded with Rs.6000/-. Mohd.Shoeb of Eleven Star has been declared ‘Man of the Match ‘and awarded with Rs. 5000/-. Wherein Mohd. Imran of Ansar Club was declared as best player of Ansar Club and awarded with Rs.5000/-. Both team coaches received Rs. 5000/-each. Furthermore, Rahul Brothers and Quidwai Club, who were in the 3rd and 4th position also, received Rs. 5000/-each.

Prominent persons and officials present on the prize distribution function were Sameer Meghe, Senior Vice President Salim Baig, Vice President Harish Vora, Gen. Secretary Eugyne Norbert, Treasurer Iqbal Kashmiri, Pradeep Nagarkar , Stanley Gregory , Javed Rana & NDFA officials.

Nagpur News: The Inter-College Powerlifting Competition gets underway, which is organized by Gulam Nabi Azad College of Physical Education affiliated to Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University at Gulam Nabi College on December 10, 2013.

This competition was inaugurated by Principle Gulam Nabi College Dr. Vivekanand Singh, Selection Committee Member Sameer Pahune, Secretary of Vidarbh Powerlifting Association Shrikant Varankar and President BJP Nagpur Sachin Mathame. Other prominent persons present on the occasion were Dr. Sushil Chavan, Dr Sarang Khadase and Prof. Ninawe.

Furthermore, Powerlifting Women’s Competition was also started from December 10, 2013. This competition will be judged under the supervision of Prof Laxmikant Meshram, Prof Manoj Shingane, Prof Akhilesh Pandey, Prof Anzad Dambre, Parag Pathak and many more. However, the inaugural function was conducted by Prof. Sardarilal Sharma and vote of thanks was proposed by Manoj Shingane.

Nagpur News: Thousands of citizens are expected to participate in the 2-km long Run for Unity being organized in the city on Sunday. Similar runs will be held simultaneously across 1,000 locations in 29 states and six Union Territories which are expected to see a total participation of 10 lakh people.

“This historic run will unite the country in paying fitting tributes to Sardar Vallabhai Patel, the Iron Man of India on his 63rd death anniversary. Nagpur News: RUBY Cricket Association will lock horns with Advocate XI in the final of the BCS Challenger Cup T-20 Cricket Tournament. The final would be played on December 13,2013 at 12 noon at Bishop Cotton School ground. The tournament is organised by Royal Cricket Association.

However in the first semi-final, Ruby stunned Central Railway by eight wickets. With, Batting first, Central Railway scored 130 runs losing six wickets in 20 overs.

Sanjog Binkar top scored with 35 runs while Vikas Yadav added 27. Prabodhan Janbandhu chipped in with valuable 23.

For Ruby, Rahul Nair, Prajwal Baniya and Azhar Sheikh took two wickets each. In reply, Ruby achieved the target in 11.3 overs losing two wickets. In form batsman Aman Sharma slammed 64 runs while Gaurav Upadhyay added 37. Anirudha Chore contributed 21 runs in his team’s victory.  For Central Railway, Ankush Lokhande took two wickets.
In second semi-final, Advocate XI edged out Green City Club by 10 runs in a close encounter. Amit Deshpande scored 49 while Shahnawaz Khan added 41 as Advocate XI scored 167 from 20 overs. Anup Fulper made 37 runs. From Green City, Akash Gautel and Krishna Kumar took two wickets each.Green City Club were restricted at 157 for 9 in 20 overs with Owesh Syed (34), Raja Sharif (31), Krishna Bamhane (24) being the scorers.
For Advocate XI, medium pacer Faiyaz Alam took four wickets while Shahnawaz Khan took three and Jay Baghel one. Furthermore, Rt. Rev Paul Dupare, Bishop of Nagpur Diocese, will be the chief guest of the final.

Jingle Bell High School and St. Ursula Convent cruised their ways to finals, in the ongoing VHA Girls School Hockey League underway at VHA ground on December 12, 2013. The tournament has been organized by Vidarbha Hockey Association

In the first Semifinal match, Jingle Bell’s High School beat Ramesh Chandak High School 1-0 to enter the finals. Sana Shaikh of Jingle Bell scored a superb goal in the 8th min during proceedings. Ramesh Chandak tried well to score but failed in it and suffered a defeat against Jingle Bell’s High School

While, St. Ursula thrashed V.T Convent 3-0, in the second semifinal match of VHA Girls League. Also, St. Ursula defeated V.T.C in previous matches. For, St. Ursula, first goal was scored by Nirmala Dhurve in the 20th min. Anjali Sorkure earned the second goal in the 40th min and Kajol Narote made the scoreline 3-0 in favour of St. Ursula in the 44th minute through another field strike. St. Ursula will now face Jingle bell School in the final match.

Nagpur News: ABHIRAM Tapas, student of Modern School Koradi, will lead the Maharashtra Under-17 basketball team in the SGFI School Nationals to be held at Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh from December 13, 2013.

Tapas is a regular member of Navyuvak Krida Mandal, Chandan Nagar. Tapas was selected on the basis of his excellent performance in the recently held state level championship at Brahmapuri where he scored maximum 85 points.

Nagpur News: Title favourites St. Ursula girls had an easy outing against Jingle Bells School in the finals of the Inter-School hockey tournament by Vidarbha Hockey Association on December 13, 2013.

St. Ursula defeated Jingle Bell High School 3-0 in the final match. Kajol Narote opened account for St. Ursula by scoring first fabulous goal in the 10th min. Six minutes later Susna Nayak increased the lead to 2-0 against Jingle Bell.

Moreover, Nirmala Dhurve shot the ball home from a close range to give her side the much –needed lead and made it 3-0 making it more difficult for Jingle Bell. However, the score remained unchanged at the final whistle. Hence, St. Ursula won the title of VHA Girls League and emerged winners in hockey league.

The judge for the league was Judge Tejas Warghat, match umpires for the league were Gunanand Jha and Rajkumar Jha and the technical officer was Shiv Narware.

Nagpur News: Ideal Sporting trounced Star Boys 1-0 in the finals and notched the title of Late Jawaharlal Darda Second Division League organized by Nagpur District Football Association (NDFA) in association with Lokmat Pvt. Ltd at Central Railway Ajni ground on December 13, 2013.

In the breathtaking final outing, Ideal Sporting overcame Star Boys by scoring a solitary excellent goal through Zubair Maviya in the 18th min. Both the teams played their heart out to take lead but Star Boys Club, Kandri, Mines missed out some good opportunities to score any goal.

Meanwhile, Atharul Haque (32nd min), Danishur Rahman (36th min), Navid Akhtar (57th min), Ejaz Ahmad (79th min) of Idealwere cautioned with yellow cards for their rough tackles.

Moreover, in the Prize distribution function, the winning team Ideal Sporting awarded with Rs. 11000/- and Runner up team Star Boys Kandri, Mines awarded with Rs. 7000/- by Nagpur District Football Association. Furthermore, Best Goal KeeperShamim Akhtar of Ideal Sporting awarded with Rs.5000/-.Mohd. Zakir of Ideal Sporting has been declared ‘Man of the Match ‘and awarded with Rs. 5000/-. Whereas Kamal Rautelwas declared as best player of Star Boys Club and awarded with Rs.3000/-. Both team coaches received Rs. 5000/-each.
